If I am the developer of the script and developed the complete suite and then create a package and handed over to someone to execute the same.Is it possible?

Does that another person need to have license to run the same?

Hello Sakshi,

It is absolutely possible to execute a test, test list or open the full Test Studio project on another machine. There are different requirements for those actions and I will share more details below.

  • Recorded tests and test lists can be executed, using the ArtOfTest.Runner.exe. It comes with Test Studio Web & Desktop, Ultimate and the Run-Time edition and you need a license for those. You can run the test or test lists from the command line or a build server like Jenkins or Azure DevOps as well.
  • Opening and editing the recorded test scripts requires Test Studio Web & Desktop, Ultimate, or the Visual Studio extensions from a DevCraft Ultimate license . Having those licenses and products also allows you to execute the tests on that machine.

A typical setup is to develop the tests on 1 or more machines with a license for Test Studio Web & Desktop or Ultimate and execute them via the scheduling feature on other machines, that have at least Test Studio Run-Time.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again, if you have any follow up questions.
