In my software application we have drop down menus that only show on mouseover.  These items navigate to other pages.  I am having difficulty getting the test to see the drop down menus to execute the click function when I rerun the test.  How can I go about forcing the test to display the drop down menu to allow for the program to execute properly?

Hi Jennifer,

To expand the drop down menu you just need to add a "Mouse Hover" step and place it right before the Click step. See this article on how to invoke the Mouse Hover event.

Thanks, I had already figured out a work around.  Since my drop down menu items were simply redirecting to another page, I replaced the click step that had been giving me issues with a navigate to step and it's working properly.  I will look at that hover over in other aspects of my testing though.

Many thanks for your assitance!

Hello!
I have one more question regarding on-hover menu: to execute test I need hover over icon to show menu and verify items in it, e. g. I don`t need to click those items. When menu is expanded, I cannot hover over it`s elements and use 'Quick Tasks' -> 'Verify element is visible'.
Please let me know if there are any solutions regarding my problem.
Thank you!

With menus like this, I find pressing the Scroll Lock key to activate "Freeze Mode" helps tremendously.

Hi Anna,

Robert is correct. Our Freeze Mode was designed to handle the very problem you describe.

Thanks Robert for jumping in to assist. I've granted you some Telerik Points in compensation.

This link is not working now. Is there still a viable Scroll Lock available?

Unfortunately this function is no longer available in Test Studio.

Please elaborate a bit more on your issue so we can figure out something for you.

The issue is as follows: In my application we have hover overs that contain data that needs to be verified for accuracy.

-Record my steps in IE.

-Click the Highlight Element feature and hover over the icon.

It is by chance to get the highlight on the hover box, due to all the other surrounding fields. It is pretty much trial and error and once it lands in the hover box, grab what you need quickly.

Any suggestions for that?
