Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone could help, I was wondering if they were any training material / videos, of using Test Studio in a recording / coding approach. I know about  the recording  side of test studio but I would like to have the following approach to our testing.

Point One :- Quickly recording
Point Two :- Convert to Script
Point Three :- Build Libraries where common functionality, i.e. Logging in can be called from a script.

Any help would be great as I know that I would not be the only one looking for this information

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

Point One :- Quickly recording
We have a lot of videos and articles in our documentation that you can use for that part.

Point Two :- Convert to Script
Why do you want to do this? Of course, you can do this using the option Customize Step in Code, but usually you don't have many benefits from that.
For example, if you change the name of the element in Elements Explorer, you will have to change it manually in all of the coded steps, while this will happen automatically in all of the recorded test steps.
Of course, there are some cases where you need a coded step. You can use our documentation for useful code samples

Point Three :- Build Libraries where common functionality, i.e. Logging in can be called from a script.
You can see in this forum thread, my colleague, Cody, explains about "Test Modularization", which I believe is the goal you're after.
