Several tutorials have mentioned an 'edit in live' option. I assume this was taken out since I don't have such an option, but I can find nothing online about it.

Currently I am doing this tutorial,

https://www.telerik.com/videos/teststudio/test-studio-tutorial-automated-testing-for-complex-grid-scenarios

and again the option was again mentioned. This is such a regular thing that I wanted to check on this and see if I am supposed to have this option, and why it is no longer available?

The reason this is an issue is that the 'find in dom' option only goes to the dom element in the recording window, while the 'replace' option is only available in the Teststudio window. So you have to find the dom element in the recording window and then manually go in and search for it in the Teststudio window. The edit in live as shown in the video would make this process much easier.

Hello Jared,

We made some improvements in the Edit Element Pane and this lead to some UI changes as well. As a result there are currently tutorials that have the old view and buttons. You can find the updated information in our documentation here.

Basically there are 2 options to "edit in live". Please find more details below.

1.Without an active recording session - you can use the Launch Recorder button from the ribbon in the Elements tab to try and navigate to the URL that is set in the test. That will allow you to validate the filters and navigate the DOM tree in Test Studio.

2. With an active recording session - if you already have an active recording session, you might need to select it from the Active Recorders dropdown in the ribbon. Continue using the DOM tree, suggestions and validation

I hope your will find the above information helpful and will be able to optimize the element's find expression. Please do not hesitate to contact us again, if you need further assistance.
