Hi,
The Test Scheduling feature : http://www.telerik.com/teststudio/features/test-scheduling describes that we can email the results upon completion.
But I'm not seeing the 3rd step - feature to email the results.
Could it because of trial version or Is there something else in it?
Regards,
Shiva

Hello Shiva,
You need to configure the SMTP server when you are setting up the scheduling as shown in this article.
When done you will be able to send results via email.

Hi Ivaylo,
Thank you for the post.
There is no "Configure as scheduling server" option. Please have a look at attached Screen Shot.

Hi Ivaylo,
Thank you for the post again. I will do that now.
Could you please explain me little bit about "Run Test List Remotely" feature? Could i run the test list from my home laptop which does not have Test Studio installed? And without actually running it in browser- but in background.
I could find this image on full list features.
Best Regards,
Shiva

Hi Shiva,
Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Ivaylo is out sick this week so I'm stepping in to assist until he returns.
The "Run List Remotely" works the same as Schedule TestList with the idea of running the test list immediately. I am sorry but there is no way to instruct it to run on a machine without Test Studio. It requires a scheduling server and an execution server (which could be the same box).
Also there is no way to run a test w/o launching a browser, or running it in the background. Test Studio tests are a type of UI automation which requires a real browser be launched and that browser to be in the foreground in order for keyboard and mouse actions to work.

Hi Cody,
I'm sorry to hear about Ivaylo.
I was hoping to Schedule the test, turn off the computer and next morning receive the test results via email or directly in Test Studio =)
So, the computer and Web service has to be on, when scheduled test will be running?
Best Regards,
Shiva

Hello Shiva,
You can actually achieve the same net effect with the right setup. It requires two computers:
Computer A - Has full Test Studio installed on it. No Scheduling or Storage server.
Computer B - Has either full Test Studio or Run-time edition installed on it. I recommend installing Run-time edition because it's much cheaper and provides all the functionality you need for scheduled tests. This machine is setup with Scheduling and Storage and Execution server all installed and running on it.
Connect your test project to this remote scheduling server. Now when you schedule a test list it will run on this remote machine which should be running 24 x 7. You can now shutdown your local desktop/laptop, go home and the test will run at the scheduled time. If you set it up right you will get an email with the results. You can also start Test Studio back up, go to the Results tab and fetch the results from the remote storage service (results of the test run are pushed and save in our storage service).
Of course there are many steps to getting this all setup and running properly, but this gives you the high level view how it will work.

Hi Cody,
A small question, The Computer B, where Run-time edition will be installed, needs to be On and be connected to web..?
The Test Studio Ultimate has the Scheduling and Execution, but we still need another computer to be able to run remotely.
Thank you,
Shiva

Hi Shiva,
Yes computer B must be left on (can't run a program if the computer is turned off LOL).
But does it have to be connected to the Internet? Well that depends on what is being tested. It must be able to connect to whatever will be tested. The browser is going to launch and try to navigate to the URL of the application to be tested. As long as the browser can connect to that web server it will work.

Hi, I'm trying to set up email reports, but the scheduling window(configure scheduling server) at the scheduling tab says that it's unable to start service!
I really don't know what's the issue is.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Hello Oren,
Please try stopping the Test Studio runner and do the Scheduling configuration again. Sometimes it overtakes the port that is used by the scheduling service.
Please note that it is best to submit a new ticket instead of injecting to an existing forum post.
