Good morning,
We are using the Telerik Test Studio version 2017.1.207.0. When we try to record some actions of our Desktop application we got an error.(Attached in the thread). The error is raised at the begining of the execution, when our application is running the splash window.
About our application: We are using Visual Studio Team Service. It is a desktop application programmed in .NET (C#)
Do you know which could be the problem?
Thanks,
Best regards

This error seems to come from your WPF application itself - the way it is developed or deployed in debug mode. There are multiple solutions in internet how to handle this situation, like this:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1894837/invaliddeploymentexception-application-identity-is-not-set
From Test Studio side we cannot fix it, but we can advise you how to try to workaround it. As I can see, when WPF launching recorder the exception is shown. Can you please try the following - launch your application first and then from Recorder button dropdow use option to attach recorder to existing application - this can help connect to your WPF application directly, not to the splash screen.
Please tell me if this worked for you, and if you managed to talk to someone from your development team if they can fix it.
If you still have problems, we can try to check the problem locally and see if we can help, but we will need your wpf application for that purpose.

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for your replying.
We will check the link you provided us to handle this situation.
I tried to launch the applicaction and after that clicking Recorded button using the existing application, as you said, but unfortunately, Test Studio spends a lot of time without success. At the bottom on the left appears a connecting recorder progress bar and any action done in our WPF is not stored (I attached a picture).
Best regards,
Let me please interfere into this thread.
The actions against the application could not be recorded before the recorder is attached to it. However obviously there is something that prevents the recorder to attach. Could you please generate the application log while trying to connect to the already running app and then send it zipped via this thread. Please clear the log prior that to ensure only relative to the current issue records will be stored within the log.
Thanks for your cooperation!

Hi Elena,
Attached you will find the log zipped.
Thanks for all,
Best regards,
Thank you for getting back to me and providing the requested details.
I reviewed the log and listed exceptions and it seems that the access to the folder, where the WPF application exe file is, is limited for the active user. Could you please double check if full permissions are granted for that folder and also explicitly start Test Studio as an Administrator.
Please let me know what the behavior is after applying the above recommendations. Thanks for your cooperation!
