Hello group, we are facing the problem when we are recording a web test in TS and try to highlight an element the selection rectangle is jumping all over the place but not on the position of the mouse pointer. I have set the display scaling settings to 100% but the problem still occurs. We have a setup with multiple screens as mentioned in some thread's and I was using Chrome. After setting the display settings to 100% I have restarted Chrome. Is there a solution for this issue?

Thanks,  Richard

I have a similar issue as well. however the application tends to work fine for a different user on a VM but does not on the VM that I have access to and so far the settings have been checked and they look similar.

My Colleague and I login to same VM where we have Test Studio. From her machine, the application tends to work fine as expected but when I login to the same VM the misalignment happens. We verified that we both have similar settings on our machines and also changed display settings to 100% but like you said the problem still occurs and now I ran out of options to see what else could be the problem unless someone guides us with this. I am tagging along to this post so that when someone responds we might have the answer or if I happen to get paid support I will let you know what different they did and how it worked along with steps.

Thanks, Kapil

Hello Richard,

Basically for this behavior to occur, most common problem is setting DPI of the monitor to be 100%, which you say you already configured according to this article (http://docs.telerik.com/teststudio/troubleshooting-guide/recording-problems-tg/highlighting-misaligned).

Next thing is to ensure your browser is calibrated and its zoom level is set to 100% (http://docs.telerik.com/teststudio/features/project-settings/browsers)

This can also happen if you have multiple monitors (as is your case) and different monitors have different settings - can you double check that? And see how you exactly configure multiple monitors - extend displays or clone, or any other option? You can try different monitor configuration options just to see if this fixes the problem.

In specific cases this can also happen if you are using a 4K monitor or if this is something specific to your website implementation. If the case is the latter, can you provide us with sample page and access rights to where you experience the problem, so we can investigate on our site?

Last thing is to check if this is Chrome specific problem and try using Internet Explorer/Firefox for recording to see if behavior is observed there also.

Thank you for your feedback and cooperation,

Best Regards,
Daniel Djambov
