I'd like to run all of my tests on a remote server, but whenever I start Test Studio, the Test Runner application starts.

I've unchecked the "Run on start up" option - so it doesn't run on start-up... but it still runs and appears as an option in the "Run List Remotely" dialog box.

I checked the Test Studio settings but didn't see any way to disable Test Runner start-up.

Hello Mark,

In short, it's not possible. Also you really don't need to worry about it. The local Test Runner is needed for Quick Execution. Then when you want to run the test list remotely use Run List Remotely or Schedule Test List. Either option will cause the selected test list to run on the remote machine, not the local machine.

This doesn't seem to be the case.

Assume the Server is named "Server" and the Desktop is named "Desktop".

If I run Test Studio on the Desktop and see two options, Desktop and Server, then select to run the tests on Desktop, they seem to run on Desktop.  I even see a window open and can watch the tests take place.  Moreover, when I view the results I only see the results of tests that ran on the Server - not tests that ran on the Desktop.

If I could see results of tests run on the Desktop in the Server results, that'd be nice.

I'd really prefer that my co-workers run their tests on the server provided - rather than on my workstation.

Hello Mark,

Is the machine "Server" where you have Telerik Scheduling Service and Telerik Storage Service running (which is the way it should be)? If so, then the behavior you describe makes sense if you used Change Location to make your local test runner connect to and be controlled by the remote scheduling server. As far as the scheduling server is concerned, your local test runner is just another execution server that is available to run tests on.

You can stop other users from seeing your local test runner by using Change Location and set it to your local machine. Then it won't communicate with the remote scheduling server any longer. It will no longer appear in the list of available execution servers to run tests on remotely.

Let me know if you need further assistance with this.
