Internet explorer (IE) has stopped working during test execution throws error: ***** is not responding recover webpage.

"This issue happening only with Operating Systems: Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019, whereas works fine with Windows 7."

I am using internet explorer version 11.778.18362.0 to test my silverlight/asp web application using TestStudio_Ultimate_2018_2_0606_3.

Tests run "without" any issues using Windows 7, now we are trying to test SL application with Windows 10 / Windows Server 2019 but IE has stopped working during test execution (see attached). Every time I run a test, at some point of time it gives "***** is not responding recover webpage" error message and failing test. There is no consistency, where it fails either Silverlight or ASP pages.

Is anyone experiencing same issues? Any ideas to fix these kind of issues.

Thanks,

Tekmal

Hello Madhu,

I am sorry to hear about the encountered issue. At this point, it is hard for me to say what is causing this misbehavior and I will need your help to gather more details. Please follow up on the topics below.

  • I understand that this error is not consistently happening on the same part of the test or application. There is also different behavior on Windows 7 and Windows 10. The issue could be caused by some security change or configuration on the execution machine. Please make sure that your account has full administrator permissions and that you start Test Studio explicitly as administrator (see runAsAdministrator.png).
  • Clear/Enable the Test Studio application log and reproduce the issue. Then gather the generated log and attach it here as a .zip file. I will analyze it and see if there are any exceptions on our product's side.
  • Also check the Windows Event Viewer log for any application errors that are logged at the time of the error. Let me know if there is anything related to the application under test, the browser or Test Studio there.

I hope the above details will help me advise you further and figure out what is causing this misbehavior.

Thank you for your cooperation in advance.

Regards,
Plamen Mitrev
