Hi,
I finished recording my script and now would like to make some cosmetic changes. I changed the Selection Text by clicking on the expand button on a step and modified the selectdropdownby from "ByValue" to "ByText" and also modified the SelectionText from a particular value to a general label. I would like to use labels as it would give a brief description of the text field. After i saved the test, i still see that the selection text in the step did not change but when looking at the properties, the selection text is changed to the new value.
Can you please let me know if i need to make any other change to modify the selection text of a step?

Thank you for your question.
You have indeed taken the correct steps to making the change by selecting 'ByText' and providing the correct 'SelectionText' by changing the value from the dropdown, or alternatively from the properties.
The custom description text of this step may not have changed because it has been 'customized'. If you were to Right-Click said step -> 'Remove Custom Description' before making the changes then this description will update appropriately. You also have the ability to fully customize it to anything by selecting 'Edit Custom Description'.

That worked for me now. Now i understand how this happened. I had copied my project folder on to a different system and had to change the database. So i did not realize that, i data binded each step even though they were data binded already in the previous project and were being shown now as custom description
