Periodically the computer running my tests (scheduled and executed from a single machine) gets restarted during maintenance. When that happens, my scheduled tests don't run. Starting Test Studio from the command line is easy enough, but how do I get it to open to a specific project? I'd like to schedule a simple script to check if Test Studio is running. If not, start it and open the appropriate project. It's the project part that I'm hung up on.

Anything? Anyone? I've tried a number of approaches - various command line and Powershell command(let)s, but nothing I've tried works to open the project so the scheduled tasks can run. I suppose I could use QTP to automate this task. But the irony of that may trigger the apocalypse. I hate when that happens.

Hello Douglas,
You don't need to open a project to run scheduled tests. The schedules are stored in the storage database so as long as the Execution and Storage servers are running, your tests will execute.
The storage server starts automatically when your machine boots. Your execution server does not. You can fix that by opening your Test Runner and checking the box to "Run at Start up".
Next time your machine restarts, your scheduled lists will run the next time they are scheduled to.
