I'm trying to run a test over Safari, but when I try to lauch the test I get a dialog with this error:
"Safari automation extension has not been installed. Please click 'Install" when prompted to install the WebUi automation......"
but I don't get any prompt to install it. Of course, I've checked in Safari but I don't have installed the extension "WebUI Test Studio.....".
Thanks

I'm sorry you are running into this problem.
To install the Safari automation extension, please go to this directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Test Studio 2011.2\Browser Extensions\Safari
Open the single file in that folder with Safari. Confirm the extension installation and retest Safari execution in Test Studio.

Hello.
I’ve tried what you instruct me, opening the file inside the …\Test Studio 2011.2\Browser Extensions\Safari folder with Safari, but now I have additional problems. Just after opening, Safari opened and it freeze. I waited some minutes, and it didn’t come back into life. Then I close it with the application manager. I tried to open Safari again and it freeze again after opening. I have uninstalled from my system, be sure that every folder of Safari has been deleted, installed again. Once again, when I open Safari it freezes.
I’ve noticed also that the file that was in …\Test Studio 2011.2\Browser Extensions\Safari has been deleted.
Is there any relation between the installation of the extension and that now I cannot work with Safari?. How could I fix it?.
Thanks in
advance for your support.

I admit I am puzzled as to why it's not installing our automation extension. I saw you have downloaded our latest internal build(1107) which includes support for all the latest browsers/versions. Which version of Safari you've got installed? I just installed Safari 5.1.1 on a VM with Test Studio 2011.2.1107, but I'm not able to reproduce the issue, everything works as expected and the extension file installs correctly.
I think it is possible the file got corrupted for some reason. so please find the extension file attached to this post and try to install it again, just to exclude this option. Also if you haven't done so already, configure the Safari browser according this instruction and try to disable the other third-party extensions(if you have any). You can do that from Menu->Preferences->Extensions.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Nothing. Still don't work, but for the moment I'm not going to worry about it. I want to focus mainly in IE, Firefox and Chrome. I have seen this forum talking about the same problem I had:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3194268?start=0&tstart=0
Probably it was just a coincidence that this started to happen after install the pluging. I can wait for a newer Safari version and try again.
Thanks again for your support.
I'm glad to hear this issue is not a showstopper for you and thank you for the provided link.
It looks like this is a common problem for many Safari users. Going through the provided Apple forum thread, I found a link to an older version of Safari(Safari4):
http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/Safari4/061-4663. 20090224.Fret6/SafariSetup.exe
You can try using this version for Test Studio automation until a newer Safari version is released.
Best wishes,

If you haven't done so already, please check out the last three posts on the forum thread you pointed to. I think this might be the solution to your Safari problem.
If you find the information there useful and if it works in your case, please let us know!

Yes, I installed a previous version, and now it works fine.
