Scheduling server configuration => username is confusing

When configuring the email settings, it says: "User Email". At first I thought this was the sender email (thus the email used as sender). However, this is just the user name to login. On most mailing services, this doesn't have to be the actual user email. 

I recommend that you rename this label to "Username" and add an additional "Sender email" field

It gets even worse. You don't even allow usernames as non-email addresses because you apparently parse it as email before setting it as username?

Probably because you use the username as sender as well.

Hello Geert,

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing this issues. Based on your request I have raised a feature request which you can review, comment and track using this this public URL.
Until implemented as an alternative you could use  Gmail's SMTP server to send result email for scheduled test list execution. Please check this article for more information.

You could follow the progress of this feedback entry on the public link shared in the previous reply, leave comments and vote to put your higher interest in appearance. Please be informed that the development team researches the customers' feature requests and bug submits as per their importance in terms if flawless work is possible, priority and complexity. I understand your question is reasonable enough since the entry dates back almost 3 years ago. However this is not a non working feature but a modification of an existing one. This is most probably the reason why the progress of this feature request is that postponed.
