I am running a test in the UI and as I watch the browser, the test steps are executing okay and the UI marks the steps as successful (with the white check in the green circle), but Test Studio seems to think there is some kind of error and after the UI completes, all the steps are marked as not run (with the white dash in the black circle) and the test is marked as failed.

I tried rerecording the test steps and running them again and got the same result, although the logs don't look the same. I've attached the logs from both runs. The first log included the DOM, which I removed. If you need the DOM included, let me know.

Test Studio version: 2015.2.273.0

Browser: IE 11, Version 11.0.9600.17959

Windows 7 Enterprise, Service Pack 1

Hello Alan,

This is quite strange behavior, do you experience it with any other browser? You can give it a try with Chrome and Firefox. If you are facing this behavior with IE only, then we should look for the reason in the browser itself. This may be due to an addon installed which is preventing us from proper injection into the browser. Can you try temporarily disable all installed addons in IE and try executing again.

Do you have the chance to execute the test on another machine, if yes are you getting the same behavior?

This seemed to be an issue with the Test Runner itself not completing successfully, as the error messages all seemed to indicate the tests failed due to a timeout issue even though the test step completed okay and were initially marked as successful and only changed to failed after the Test Runner timed out. Regardless, after I downloaded and installed the latest release (version 2015.3.1015.0), I have not seen this behavior.

Btw, In the short time I've used the new release, I've been impressed with how it's working. So far it's running a lot better than the previous release. The element highlighting seems to be working a lot better and overall it just seems to be more responsive and does what I expect it to do instead of requiring me to figure out how to work around it's idiosyncrasies. I'm pretty happy with it. Good job to the team.
