Not sure how this happened but suddenly my test lists refuse to run on my execution machine, its as if they never copy over.  Here is a snippet of the TS Trace log.  I am running this with the 2013.2.1524.0 internal release due to other test list issues.

This has now started working after re-running each test in the list.  I had moved the project folder and there was a disconnect between the location of some of the Test as a Step cases.

My issue has also crept back up now its failing to find tests that were previously running just fine.  I get a 0-0 and when I check the results in Test Studio it says cannot find <characterstring> <testname> .  It runs fine locally so Im perplexed as to how this would occur. 

I have since updated to the 2014.1 410 Internal Build, even after upgrading my projects with the new build i am unable to get a successful run.

Hi Cornelius,

I see this contained in the log you posted:

Unable to load test list, aborting run

This indicates that test list you specified to execute is not contained in your TFS source control. If you specified to run test list "ABC" there should be a file named "ABC.aiilist" located in the TestLists folder of the project when looking at the project in your Source Control Explorer of Visual Studio. Is the list file there?

I do have test list file in project in source control (in fact all the other project files). I see no project files are copied to C\Users\aletc\AppData\Local\Temp\Projects\ on execution machine. Errors below

Cody I have updated from SQL 2008 to 2012 as 08 did not like to play nicely with windows server 2012.  My runs are now kicking off for th emost part but I am still having issues with 0-0 results when test lists are running.

I have attached to files.  A screenshot of the results page for a test that ran this morning.  It shows it was unable to load some tests but it did run others. The other file is the results email with 0-0 test run.  

I am currently running this same test on a scheduled run I kicked off a little bit ago and its running as expected.

Hello Leonard,

Since you are getting your project files from source control is very likely to have communication problems. Please try impersonating the scheduling service as shown in this article and give it a try.
Since it seems that you are running into this problem constantly if the solution above doesn't help we will really need to take a look at this problem on your computer via GTM session and investigate further.

Hello, 

I ran across into the same error like first one above.

Situation: Unable to retrieve test history

But in my case is different.
I've made a project with many folders and subfolders with web tests and with a few test lists. When time came to run remotely one of the test lists the list does't run on the server.
As a result showed me this message (See ResultRemotlyRunTestList.jpg) in the View Log has the following error.(See ViewLog.jpg).

I've open another project witch is smaller and when I execute a test list remotely the list is runing without problem.

To test where is the problem, I've create a simple project and found that if the name of the folder is long and the name of the test inside it is long to and made a test list form that test, run it remotely the test list is not executed on the server.

Than I've rename the folder name to be smaller and again the test list is not running on the server. I've delete the list, made a new one and again doesn't want to execute.
Before to rename the names of the folder and test with long names the test list was running correctly.

Something else I noticed when running a test list remotely is that the test project is copied to the server in this folder C:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp\Projects.

Inside of the test project appears the folder with needed test for the test list but the folder name has remained with the long name despite of the fact that in the Test Studio is modified. (See TestProjectFolder.jpg)
And the other is the folder with test lists contains test lists that I've deleted. (See FolderWithTestLists.jpg)

How can I fix this, in my original project?
If I rename all folder, subfolders, and tests to be with smaller names or delete some of the folders It's not guaranteed that the test lists will run on the server.
And why there is no restriction how long to be the full path to reach the test?

I'am using version 2014.3.903.0

Hello Boris,

As you've noticed on the execution server the project is copied into a Temp folder. If you have too many folders nested and using long names it is very likely to hit a Windows limitation that does not allow to have a path longer than 248 characters. If that is the reason you definitely need to shorten the names in your project.

In order to start in a clean state you will need to do the rename and reset the scheduling database. One way to change the database is to Programs and Features in your Control Panel, select Telerik Test Studio and hit Change, this will go through the installation procedure where you are configuring the storage and you can specify a new Database name.

The other way to proceed is to edit the connection string in CloudStorageSelfHost.exe config file located in the following folder (see the screenshot attached):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Test Studio\StorageService

You need only to change the database name with the new name and save the changes. Test Studio will create the new database for you automatically. Please note that you should change only the highlighted part
