Test List results do not appear on the calendar.

Hello Swathi,

Do you run the test list locally or you are using the scheduling functionality?

If you are running the test list locally, the aiiresult file should be present in the Results folder in your project. Please check there. If the file is not there, clear the application log, run the test list again, and in the behavior reproduce, attach the newly created log for review.

If you are using the scheduling functionality make sure you are connected to the scheduling server, all services are running and try to reload the results. Also check whether you can see the result in Manage Results.

I have a question that is slightly related. I have certain test within my Test List that are more like 'helper test.' If they were to be ran alone they would fail. For example, I have test that are specifically for databinding (similar to the step created in this video: http://www.screencast.com/t/87NwIhuDAG ).

As for my question, is there a way to prevent these 'Helper test' from executing and ultimately failing within a Test List. Ironically, when a look at the Excel report for my Test List, I do see at least one instance where the Result shows 'Not Run;' however, others simply fail. Is there a way to include these 'helper test' in a Test List, since they are needed, yet prevent Test Studio from attempting to run them individually?

Thanks for contacting us. 

I reviewed the video you pointed to along with the details shared. However I don't seem to get your idea quite good. Test as step is to be executed only when called from a parent test. The test which is called from within another test is not required to be included in the test list. 

I guess these are some configurational misunderstandings but I will certainly need further details on your end along with some screenshots and execution logs to demonstrate the issue you are facing.

You are correct in that I did not realize that it was not required to include the Test as Step in the Test List. Thank you for your help.
