Hi,
I am trying to explore testing of our web application on Mobile. Do you have any document/video available step by step through which I can use test studio feature of testing of web application on Mobile?
If yes then please share.
With Warm Regards,
Sumit Kumar

Hello Sumit Kumar,
I am glad to hear that you are extending the use of Test Studio for your application and I will be happy to assist you in testing web application on a Mobile device.
Before you can start recording your testing scenario, you need to configure the Test Studio Mobile project, configure the proxy settings (make sure that your machine and the mobile device are in the same network), install the certificate and after you connect the Web Agent successfully, you should be able to review and test with the demo web tests we have provided.
You can proceed with recording your own tests against your application and similar to Test Studio Web&Desktop project, you will be able to execute the test, review the results, error details and execution log. I guess that you are also familiar with Test List execution, which is also available for Mobile test projects.
Please check our documentation and overview of the Test Studio Mobile and of course contact us if you have any further questions.

I am trying to test web application on Mobile . Can we use mobile network instead of wifi . I tried to change the proxy setting in APN but after that mobile internet was not working . Do you have any suggestions to solve this

Hello Francina,
Thank you for contacting us with this question.
The mobile device needs to be in the same network as the machine with Test Studio, as they need to communicate in the local network via proxy. You can check the details in my previous reply, on how to configure your project and mobile device.
Please try to set up the environment and let me know if you have any troubles.

Hello,
is there a way to schedule mobile web test list execution like we can schedule desktop web tests?
We have searched through documentation but it is not mentioned anywhere for mobile tests. Basically, we want to set up a regression test suite that will automatically kick off every day at given time using Test Studio only.
Thanks,
Aleksandar

Hello Aleksandar,
I can suggest you 2 approaches to execute Mobile tests and try to achieve your requirements. Please find additional details below.
I hope that you can apply the above suggestions to your environment. Unfortunately, scheduling mobile test lists is not possible, as it is for Web & Desktop projects. You can submit a feature request in our public feedback portal and we will consider it for our future releases.
Please do not hesitate to get back to us, if you have any follow up questions.

- You can use the integration possibilities with Jenkins CI, using the Mobile Test Studio Plugin.
- Another option is to use the Mobile Testing Test Runner CLI and setup the Message Server for standalone execution. This allows you to run the script and execute the test or test list with the mobile test scenarios.

Hi Plamen,
thanks for the information.
Is there a plugin for VSTS/Azure DevOps?
Thanks,
Aleksandar

Hi Aleksandar,
You can integrate Mobile testing execution with the second approach from my last reply. The idea is to setup the Message Server for standalone execution and execute the script to start the Telerik.MobileTesting.Runner.exe with the necessary parameters. The command can be started in the VSTS/Azure DevOps build and you need to discuss this option with the devops team.
Test Studio does not have a plugin for VSTS/Azure DevOps, but the Command Line Interface will accomplish the same task.
Thank you for submitting the feature request for Mobile test scheduler. You can vote for it, to increase its importance and follow it, to get notifications. We will review it for our future releases.
