Hello,
Test Studio Ver: 2012.1.411.0

When I'm playing back a test that clicks a link, the test studio overlay appears saying that it is connecting to the webpage, but my test keep going underneath and that 'connecting to page' overlay messes with my test as their is some physical mouse click simulations.

How can I wait until the connecting to page overlay has finished?

Thanks for the help guys!
Jon

Hello Jon,

I'm a bit confused by your description. The Connecting to this window overlay only appears when you:
  • Click the Record button.
  • Right click a Navigate step and select Load Page.
  • Right click a step and select Run > To Here.

In those cases the overlay will not appear until the steps have completed successfully or if a step fails. You should not see it during standard execution.

Can you provide more details on your scenario? Perhaps a Jing recording will shed some light.

Greetings,

Hi Anthony

The issue is when I am testing a test in a recording browser and click on a link that requires a new page to be opened the page loads and the connecting to browser overlay appears, the connecting to browser overlay inhibits the physical click steps I have.

I've attached a screenshot, notice that the page in the background has loaded, my test will detect this and continue it's run through, one step of which requires a physical click and the overlay prevents that click from being read.

Cheers

Hello Jon,

The only way I saw similar behavior was by using Run > Selected Steps with a recording toolbar attached to the parent window. To work around this you can use Run > To Here on the last step within the popup you want executed.

Again, this is a very specific scenario in recording mode. Standard execution should work just fine.

All the best,
Anthony

Hi Anthony

Thanks for the help. Your suggestion will work. Not the way I was hoping but none-the-less it is no major inhibitor on my productivity!

Again, thanks for the help!
Cheers
