I'm trying to use the built-in Excel function COUNTIF on a cell range. How do you return the integer result of that value? Do I have to specifically set the formula to a cell first and get the result that way? Or can I somehow just get the result without actually having to write the formula to a cell?

Thank you in advance.

Hello Nicholas,

At this point, evaluating the result of a function outside of a cell value is not supported and you will need to add the function as a value of a cell so you can calculate its final result. I logged a request on your behalf to expose a similar functionality for the SpreadProcessing model used in RadSpreadsheet: SpreadProcessing: Expose API allowing to calculate the result value of a formula without adding the formula as a cell value. You can vote for the task to increase its priority.

If it is an option for you, you can use SpreadProcessing to perform the desired calculations in a separate workbook and show only the relevant values in the UI control. You can find more information on how to work with the functions in the model in the Formulas help section.

Hope this is helpful.

Regards,
Tanya
