Hi Team,

Do we support the relative path of xpath instead of absolute path?
Because absolute path not stable enough, page's small change will cause case failed, so I'd like to use relative path, seem I putted the relative path, the element can not be found.
Absolute path: /html[1]/body[1]/div[10]/div[2]/div[1]/div[3]/div[1]/div[1]/ul[1]/li[1]/a[1]
Relative path: //div[@id='nameplate-header']/div[1]/ul/li[1]/a

Thanks

Hello,
I have been asked to schedule a simple login test on our website to run every 15 minutes.  Since we are unable to repeat a test in a single schedule more often once per day and I would like to avoid setting up 96 of those schedules I am searching for alternatives.  I have been considering placing the same test in a test list 12 times with 15 minute waits between each iteration or looping through the same test multiple times with 15 minute waits between each iteration however I have been unable to determine how to do any of these options.  Do you have any suggestions?  I am working in the full version of Test Studio.

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Hello,

I'm evaluating some test automation tools in order to chose the best that my company needs to test a web application. Now I'm evaluating Test Studio and for the moment I think it's the easiest and can cope easily with all the problems (Ajax dinamic load, emulate key in fileds, image comparation) I have found in other test tools.

I still have one doubt that I would like to know if it is possible to be done in Telerik Test Studio (we don't intend to use the VS pluging):

At some point of the test case an XML file is generated. We would like to compare if that the data in XML is compatible with another. For this we would like to call an external program from the Test Studio. This external program would compare the XMLs and return an error code that sould be logged by the Test Studio in the test case.

Is that possible to be done?.

Thanks

Strange request here.

I'm doing a demo for decision-makers very soon and want to exhibit Test Studio in its best light.

I know I can slow execution down to whatever speed I want using Execution delay...but some of my testing that I'll be exhibiting is simple interface verification which is pretty boring (and uneventful) for a demo...

Is there anyway to enact/enable "Hover Highlighting" during the demo? So the decision-makers will see what Test Studio is verifying/looking at when it is performing that action? (If not, this might be a useful/simple(?) modification to add to the wishlist.)

Thanks!
Dan

I just got an update to FF6, and now when I attempt to run Quick Execute from Visual Studio 2010, the browser launches with this in the address bar, but does't go anywhere: about:blank?!!AOT2.0!Pipe.ArtOfTest.WebAii.BrowserProvisioner_492287955.

Is this a result of Firefox 6, or am I missing something else? Tests execute cleanly in both IE and Chrome. Using Telerik Test Studio Express 2011.1 (111.7.12.0) on Windows 7.

Thanks!

Hello,
When scheduling a test list the 3rd step is to select notification settings.  3 options are available:

1.  When execution is complete or on unexpected failure.
2.  Only on execution failure (hang/timeout)
3.  Only on test failure.

I do not have a clear understanding of the differences nor are they documented.  Can you please explain?

Thanks in Advance,
Nick

I have a test that uploads a document from my desktop and then the web application returns a message to say 'successfully uploaded document with ID of ABC123'.  I want to extract the document ID part of the message only, Is this possible?  I have tried to do this using the quick tasks but can only extract the whole message.

Support,

I don't know if it is a known issue or not.

Trying to execute Silverlight pages in a row getting Unexpected error while waiting on condition. Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> ArtOfTest.WebAii.Exceptions.ExecuteCommandException: ExecuteCommand failed!
InError set by the client.

The same pages if executes as individual steps its working fine. Please see attached video for issue and reproducing steps.

Using Test Studio 2011.2.1028.0 version on windows 7 (32-bit) system. I see this issue since last 3-4 releases.

Thanks,
Madhu.

I am creating a test with coded steps using C#.
  1. In coded step, I need to fetch the data in certain row which is before the current row, I want to  know how to get the data.
  2. The time stored in Exel is type of String, how to convert it to the type of Date which is needed in the Application .

Thank you ver much!
