Hi Team,

Please can you advise on the following error while building a TypeScript project using Vite?

[commonjs--resolver] Unexpected token (32:79) in /opt/actions-runner/_work/blue-file-operational-map-web/blue-file-operational-map-web/node_modules/@progress/kendo-react-ripple/dist/es/Ripple.js

Full stack error screenshot attached.

Thanks,

Grant

Hi, Grant,

We are not aware of the reported problem and, unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce it at my end. Can you, please, provide a little more details on the exact scenario in which the problem occurs?

  • Which versions of the components and the themes are used in your project?
  • What is the component which usage leads to the error?
  • Is the error reproducible with Material theme?

In addition, it will be great if you can prepare and send us a sample where we can reproduce the issue at our end and examine the exact setup leading to it.

Regards,
Vessy

Hi Vessy,

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately I dont have much more information about it.

 - The versions Im using are all 5.13.1
 - There isnt a particular component that is complaining as the <Ripple /> tag wraps the entire project
 - Im currently using the bootstrap theme and havent tested the material one.

This error occurred while building the application using Vite. The Ripple library exists in a 'commons' library that is used in multiple projects. Of the 4 projects that have been recently updated, only one complained about the Ripple library, but they all have a similar setup and any differences should not yield this error anyway.

Unfortunately, time was a factor this time, and while Ripple wasnt the bug I needed to fix, the patch had to be deployed ASAP, so I simply removed the Ripple library and functionality as its purpose is purely aesthetic.

I will probably come back to it at a later date though.

Thanks anyway and kind regards,
Grant
