Telerik UI for .NET MAUI

Roadmap

Coming in 2026

With our November 2025 release, we’ve completed the 2025 roadmap and are looking ahead to what’s next for Telerik UI for .NET MAUI. In 2026, our focus is on three main pillars: deepening our AI story, elevating design and theming, and strengthening performance, quality and accessibility for production-grade apps across mobile and desktop.

Your feedback remains at the center of these plans. Many of the items below are a direct result of requests and ideas shared through our .NET MAUI Feedback Portal, support tickets and conversations with customers building real-world applications.

The items below are what we feel comfortable announcing today. They represent our current direction rather than a final list—some items may move between releases as we refine priorities and incorporate your feedback. Check back regularly for updates, and keep sharing your ideas so we can continue shaping the future of Telerik UI for .NET MAUI together.

Telerik UI for .NET MAUI

DataGrid: Scroll Direction Locking

New feature

We will enhance the DataGrid with an option to lock scrolling to one direction at a time, preventing diagonal movement. Developers will be able to choose between the current free scrolling behavior and direction-locked scrolling to suit their application’s needs.

This will give users more precise control when navigating large tables, making it easier to scroll through rows or columns without unintentionally shifting in the other direction.

New Chart: General Availability and RadChart Feature Parity

New component

We are preparing the new Chart component for general availability, with a focus on production readiness and closing feature gaps with the existing RadChart. This will help developers adopt the new charting experience while retaining the capabilities they rely on for data visualization.

Our work will focus on expanding functionality and refining rendering, interactions and reliability to support real-world charting scenarios across mobile and desktop.

DataGrid: Improved Keyboard Navigation in Editors

Improvement

We are enhancing keyboard navigation within DataGrid editors to make data entry and editing more efficient. Users will be able to interact with cell editors more consistently using the keyboard, reducing the need to switch between keyboard and mouse.

These improvements will support smoother editing workflows, particularly in desktop applications where users work extensively with tabular data.

RefreshView Component

New component

We are introducing a RefreshView component that enables users to refresh content with a familiar pull-to-refresh gesture. Ideal for lists, feeds and other data-driven views, it provides a convenient way to request the latest information without adding extra buttons to the interface.

Developers will be able to connect the refresh action to their data-loading logic and display a visual indicator while the content is being updated.

End of Support for .NET 9

Improvement

Microsoft has announced that support for .NET 9 will end in November 2026. In alignment with Microsoft’s .NET MAUI lifecycle policy, Telerik UI for .NET MAUI will also discontinue support for NET 9 at that time.

This timeline provides ample opportunity to transition your applications to .NET 10 or later, ensuring you benefit from the latest platform innovations, performance improvements, and security updates delivered by Microsoft and Telerik.

Looking ahead, Telerik UI for .NET MAUI is already compatible with the preview versions of .NET 11, and by November 2026 we will provide full support for the official .NET 11 release, enabling developers to confidently adopt the next generation of the .NET platform.

AI-Powered PDF Querying and Summarization

New feature
We plan to enhance PDFViewer with built-in AI capabilities that help users quickly understand and work with large or complex documents. Instead of manually scrolling and searching, users will be able to ask questions in natural language and receive concise answers or summaries directly within the viewer.

Multiline Entry Component

New component

We are introducing a Multiline Entry component designed for scenarios where users need to write longer, free-form text such as chat messages, comments, descriptions, notes or feedback forms. It provides a richer input experience than the standard single-line entry while staying lightweight and easy to integrate.

The Multiline Entry will support configurable auto-grow behavior (expanding up to a max height), scrollable content, placeholder text, character counters and validation messages. It will integrate with the existing theming system, work seamlessly with form components and data binding, and provide full keyboard support for editing and navigation on both mobile and desktop.

Improved Keyboard Navigation and Accessibility

Improvement
We are investing in consistent, accessible keyboard support throughout Telerik UI for .NET MAUI. The goal is to ensure that users can efficiently navigate, edit and interact with your application using only the keyboard, without relying on mouse or touch.

Circular Slider

New component

We are introducing a Circular Slider component that enables users to select values using an intuitive radial UI, ideal for scenarios such as volume/brightness controls, timers, progress selection and other touch-first interactions.

The Circular Slider will support configurable minimum and maximum values, step, start and end angles, and value snapping, along with options for ticks, labels and value tooltips. It will integrate with the existing theming system for consistent styling and will expose the usual data binding and events so you can easily react to value changes in your application logic.

This component is designed to work great on both mobile and desktop, providing a smooth and visually appealing alternative to traditional linear sliders and numeric input controls.

PromptBox Component

New component

We’re introducing PromptBox, a new component built for prompting and chat communication in AI-powered applications. Designed to support both simple and advanced prompt patterns, PromptBox offers structured input areas, inline guidance, prompt templates, and seamless integration with your AI backend of choice. Whether you’re building an AI assistant, a semantic search experience, or an automated workflow, PromptBox helps developers create consistent, high-quality prompts with ease. This component marks a key step in our vision to make Telerik UI for .NET MAUI fully AI-ready and accelerate the development of intelligent applications.

Smart Paste Component

New component
An AI-powered enhancement that streamlines data entry by transforming unstructured pasted content into structured form inputs. Users can copy text from emails, documents, or messages and paste it once, with the component intelligently mapping each piece to the correct fields based on context. This reduces manual typing, improves accuracy, and boosts efficiency. Smart Paste can be added to any form or other component with minimal setup and supports integration with any AI provider for content analysis. It offers a fast, context-aware paste experience that dramatically improves productivity.

Smart Prompting and Search Component

New component

We will introduce a unified Search and AI Prompting component that combines classic keyword search, semantic search, and lightweight AI prompting into a single reusable UI element. Within grids or other content-heavy components, it will support:

  • Intent-aware results – search that understands synonyms, related terms, and contextual relationships - for example, typing “vehicle” can also surface results for “car” or “automobile” when relevant.

  • Keyword precision – exact symbol-by-symbol search.

  • Inline AI Prompts - commands and suggestions triggered through natural language.

Developers can connect any LLM backend, configure templates, and tailor the user experience. This component improves discoverability, accelerates user workflows, and provides an AI-ready search and prompt surface optimized for performance and seamless integration across the suite.

Support for .NET 11 Official Release

Improvement

Telerik UI for .NET MAUI will fully support the official .NET 11 release. Our team is committed to ensuring seamless compatibility from day one, delivering a smooth upgrade path for developers, and taking full advantage of all performance, tooling, and framework improvements introduced in .NET 11.
